Everything you need to know about Taurus.
Does Taurus come with its own effects?
Yes, and it hosts yours too. Taurus has its own native pedals — a NAM amp modeler, an IR loader for cabinets and rooms, and a four-track looper — running alongside the AudioUnit plugins you already own and Apple's built-in AUs. A chromatic tuner sits on every board.
Can I use my own NAM profiles?
Yes. Taurus runs .nam captures natively — no wrapper plugin — with its own Bass, Mid and Treble tone stack, a noise gate, and input and output gain around the capture. Profiles trained at another sample rate are resampled in real time. Five CC0 starter profiles are bundled, and you pick your own with the file picker.
Can I control it with a footswitch?
Yes. Taurus takes MIDI from any CoreMIDI source — USB interfaces and controllers, virtual ports, paired Bluetooth MIDI devices and network (RTP) MIDI peers — and maps it per board, so a footswitch can switch scenes, toggle blocks, and hit the tuner or global mute without touching the screen. The Mindy Bluetooth pedal has first-party support, and the looper's whole transport is mappable too.
Which plugins does it support?
AudioUnit plugins: AUv3 on Mac, iPad and iPhone, plus AUv2 on Mac. That covers audio effects, instruments and generators, with full access to each plugin's own editor, knobs and faders.
Can I use it on stage?
Yes. Scenes capture your whole board, and you can switch between them live, along with bypassing any block, tapping tempo and kicking in a boost. A chromatic tuner is always on the board.
Does it run on iPhone?
Yes. Taurus runs on iPhone with iOS 18 and later, iPad with iPadOS 18 and later, and Mac with macOS 15 and later. On iPhone the board works in portrait as well as landscape.
Do my boards sync between devices?
Boards live in iCloud and follow you between Mac, iPad and iPhone. Everything works fully offline and catches up when you reconnect. If two devices edit the same board, you keep both copies instead of silently losing one.
What about latency?
Taurus runs on AVAudioEngine and lets you choose the buffer size, so you can trade lower latency against CPU headroom to suit your interface and the size of your rig.
Where are my boards stored?
As plain board files in your iCloud Drive, written with file coordination so you never end up with a half-saved board.
